  • Why are you changing your insurance partner?

    Following a review of our insurance products and services, we’re pleased to announce we’ve appointed the multi-award winning insurer Allianz Australia Insurance Limited (Allianz) as our preferred partner, replacing QBE, to provide insurance cover to our customers from 1 April 2019. From this date, QBE will no longer be offering new or renewed insurance cover through Australian Unity.

  • What happens with my old QBE policy?

    It’s important to note that QBE won’t be offering renewal of your policy. Your current QBE cover will cease to exist after your policy expiry date.

    We invite you to continue your insurance relationship with us under a new insurance policy underwritten by Allianz, to help ensure your most valuable assets remain protected.

    If you do not want to sign up with our new insurer, simply let us know before your policy expires.

  • What do I need to do to remain insured through Australian Unity?

    If you would like to remain insured through us, you need to set up your preferred payment method with Allianz before your QBE policy expires. 

    1. Please check the details

    As your offer of new cover from Allianz is based on information supplied by QBE, we want to ensure all the information  on your Policy Schedule is correct. If there is incorrect information, please immediately call 1300 130 935.

    2. Carefully review the Allianz Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) (including, if applicable, the key facts sheet) together with your Policy Schedule, as these set out your sums insured, terms and conditions of your cover and explain what you’re covered for. You will have received these in a letter from Allianz prior to the expiry of your current policy. Please ensure the new policy’s features and benefits meet your needs.

    3. Arrange payment of your policy

    • To make an annual premium payment, see ‘How to pay’ details provided in our letter.
    • To make arrangements for the direct debit of annual or monthly instalments of your premium, please call 1300 130 935 as you are required to confirm your bank account or credit card details with Allianz.
    • If you haven’t received your offer of a new Allianz insurance policy as yet and your policy will expire shortly, please contact us immediately on 1300 130 935.
  • Will my current direct debit premium payments continue automatically?

    No. Privacy legislation does not allow us to transfer personal financial information from one insurance provider to another in these circumstances. Please call us on 1300 130 935 to make new arrangements for the direct debit of your premium by Allianz.

  • Can I speak to someone about my new insurance policy offer or if I have any further questions?

  1. Minimum premiums may apply. Any discounts/entitlements may be subject to rounding and only apply to the extent any minimum premium is not reached. If you are eligible for more than one, we also apply each of them in a predetermined order to the premium (excluding taxes and government charges) as reduced by any prior applied discounts/entitlements. Discounts may not be applied to the premium charged for optional covers such as flood (where applicable).
  2. Any online discounts offered are applied to our standard rates (excluding optional covers) and are for the first year’s premium only (unless stated otherwise). Other discounts may apply to insurance purchased via other methods.
  3. To qualify for the maximum No Claim Bonus discount of 30%, customers must have had no home or contents insurance claims in the preceding five years. However, customers who have had up to two claims may still qualify for reduced No Claim Bonus discount.
