Comprehensive Travel Plan
Alternative plans

If you’re going overseas and you want more than just the basics, our comprehensive International Plan with cruising options may be what you need.


  • Unlimited cover for overseas medical expenses

Multi-trip Travel Plan

Perfect for anyone who travels frequently. This covers you for multiple trips overseas and within Australia for a period of 12 months.

Each trip is covered for up to 60 days, plus you get:

  • Cover for 12 months, starting from the date of your nominated first trip, with cancellation cover commencing as soon as you purchase the policy
  • Select cover for your accompanying spouse or de facto during the period of insurance, or add another adult to the policy prior to departure at an additional cost
  • Rental vehicle insurance excess of up to $4,000
  • Up to $15,000 cover for luggage and personal items with each trip (sub-limits do apply)
  • Cover for 12 months starts from the date of your first trip

Australian Travel Plan

Travel insurance isn’t just for international travel. If you’re traveling within Australia or cruising in Australian waters, Australian Unity Travel Insurance can help you have a hassle-free trip.

Australian travel plan covers:

  • Australian residents and non-residents of any age travelling within Australia.
  • Cancellation and additional expenses.
  • Medical & Dental when cruising in Australian waters.
  • Evacuation & repatriation in the case of an emergency.
  • You can extend your cover up to a maximum of 12 months from date of departure.

Budget Travel Plan

If you’re travelling on a shoestring and want to save money, our Budget plan will cover you for the basics and help you save.

Budget travel plan includes:

  • Unlimited cover for overseas medical and dental expenses, $500,000 per person for evacuation and repatriation
  • One simple $100 excess
  • Available to Australian residents and non-residents under the age of 69 years.

Inbound Travel Plan

Cover for foreign nationals visiting or working in Australia on a temporary basis.

Single-trip inbound travel plan covers:

  • Australian Medical expenses
  • Cancellation and additional expenses
  • Loss or theft of luggage
  • Rental vehicle insurance excess
  • It also covers accompanying dependent children under 25 covered at no additional cost.

Getting the right cover is important. That’s why we’ve put all the extra information you need in one, easy to use place.

If you need to make a claim we won't make you wade through paperwork. Claiming is simple, plus you can do it online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

An excess may apply to a claim you make under your policy. The amount of the excess is shown on your Certificate of Insurance. This excess will apply to each event that results in a claim.

While we do our best to arrange cover for everyone, some claims arising directly or indirectly from pre-existing medical or dental conditions are excluded under your travel insurance policy.

Automatically cover for certain medical conditions

Comprehensive Travel Plan will automatically cover certain medical conditions (listed on page 45 of the PDS), provided the condition is stable and you (or anyone else to be covered) are not waiting for medical treatment, or test or investigation result.

If you are applying for an International or Annual Multi Trip Travel Plan you must tell us if you or anyone in your travelling party has any a high risk medical condition (listed on page 44 of the PDS).

Letting us know about your condition

If you don’t receive an approval for pre-existing condition cover, you may still apply for standard cover, which excludes your pre-existing condition(s).

  1. Click here to create a quote then follow the instructions we email you. You will be asked to complete a medical appraisal form online.

  2. Once you’ve completed the assessment, we will respond with your terms and conditions.

If you’re over 70 you will need to complete and submit a Travellers Medical Appraisal Form.
