Low contact services to support you through COVID-19

If you’re self-isolating, we offer a range of contactless and low contact services so that you can continue to receive the support you need, safely.  These include:

  • Unassisted shopping: Let us head out to the supermarket on your behalf. We’ll shop to your list and can drop your groceries to your front door to limit contact.
  • Online shopping: Our friendly team can help you to navigate the word of online shopping. We can order groceries or other items for you online, or even coach you through the process of doing it yourself.
  • Meal preparation: We can help you prepare tasty and nutritious meals. We’ll work with you to plan out your meals for the week, and even help you to get things prepared for cooking.
  • Gardening: While it may be turning cold outside, we can have gardening professionals come out to help you keep things safe and tidy, getting you ready for spring.
  • Domestic assistance: While you relax in a preferred room of your home, our home care team can assist with a range services, such as laundry, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, washing dishes and changing and making the bed. We’ll even complete a touchpoint wipe-down of light switches and door handles as we leave.

COVID-19: You’re in safe hands

At Australian Unity, our biggest priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our customers and our people who care for them. You can rest assured that we are actively monitoring the current situation with COVID-19 and acting on all appropriate advice from government, supported by our Chief Medical Advisor.

Here are some of the precautions we’re taking:

  • Asking a series of screening questions before every appointment to determine whether services can proceed safely
  • Providing additional training about personal protective equipment, infection control and hand hygiene for all customer facing team members
  • Adhering to government advice on when team members should wear personal protective equipment and rapidly updating our practices if government advice changes
  • Mandating that team members must not come to work or visit customers if they are unwell, have flu-like symptoms (such as fever, cough, sore throat and shortness of breath) or have had close contact with someone who has been confirmed as having COVID-19 or who is currently being tested for COVID-19.
  • Introducing special leave arrangements to support our people when needed, as well as additional resources to support their health and emotional wellbeing
