The Australian Unity Future of Healthcare Fund aims to deliver long term capital growth and to enhance health and wellbeing via investment in preventative and remedial healthcare and health associated businesses and assets.
Addressing the key issues of an ageing population, rise of chronic disease, disability, mental health, and wellbeing creates an unprecedented opportunity to invest in healthcare. Together with the development of new technologies, the demographic trend drives demand that positions the sector for innovation, disruption and growth. Typical investment opportunities include: new preventative and remedial approaches, technology, devices, biotechnologies, life sciences, pharmaceutical advancements; new or expanded services businesses, and; the built-form capacity necessary to meet the future health and wellbeing needs.
Primary objective: To generate long term capital growth from providing strategic capital investment to address key issues of an ageing population, rise of chronic disease, disability, mental health and wellbeing and shortage of social and medical infrastructure.
Non-financial purpose: To enhance health and wellbeing via investment in preventative and remedial healthcare services and health associated businesses and assets.
The Fund will leverage Australian Unity’s internal capability along with its strategic network in the identification of investment opportunities across the healthcare sector. The Fund’s strategic asset allocation (SAA) ranges are as follows:
Venture capital and private equity |
Listed equities | Cash |
---|---|---|
0% - 60%* | 15% - 100%* | 0% - 25%* |
* The cash balance may increase above the indicative SAA range on a temporary basis to manage the Fund’s payment of redemptions and preparing to make an investment.
