About Australian Unity

At Australian Unity, we've been helping people enjoy peace of mind and financial security since 1840. A member-run organisation, we're showing Australia that great personal service and the lowest home loan rates can go hand in hand.

The Australian Unity group is a mutual organisation that has been helping Australians thrive in health, wealth and living for more than 177 years. Initially established to support community needs in 1840, the modern Australian Unity continues to put people first.

In November 2016, we launched a range of innovative banking products designed to help our customers save time and money. Since then, we’ve won a suite of awards for our home loans and savings accounts, testament to their competitive value for money.

When it comes to providing our great products, all of our Australian Unity owner occupier loans, investor loans, transaction and savings accounts are issued by Big Sky Building Society Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Australian Unity Limited.

Who is Big Sky Building Society?

Big Sky is a comprised of several former credit unions and building societies originally created for specific employer groups. These include the BHP employee co-operative, Lysaght, BP, GMF and RACV.

The last major integration was in 2012 when Big Sky gained 100% ownership of Big Sky Financial Solutions and integrated with LifePlan Australia Building Society, an Adelaide based subsidiary of fellow mutual Australian Unity which resulted in Big Sky becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Australian Unity.

How do I update my contact details?

Updating your details is easy. Go to the Australian Unity internet banking login page here.

  1. Enter your login details
  2. Head to the Settings tab
  3. Under Settings, click on Address Details to update your address, or Contact Details to update your email and phone number
  4. Click Save when you’re done and your details will be updated with us.
