Learn about the experience
During transition
What to expect during transition
The transition will take place between 5pm(AEDT) Friday, 21 November and 8pm Sunday, 23 November 2025. We’ve been working closely with Bank Australia to ensure the experience is as smooth as possible. While some temporary restrictions may be necessary, we’re doing everything we can to:
Keep disruptions to a minimum
Clearly communicate any unavoidable impacts well in advance
Give you plenty of time to plan ahead
Key impacts over transition weekend
You can continue to use your physical and digital cards during the transition process, however you may experience periods of reduced access.
There will be no access to Australian Unity internet banking or the banking app, this means you won’t be able to login or transfer money between your accounts during this time.
There may be delays with incoming and outgoing money transfers, this includes scheduled payments.
Plan ahead
Here are some tips to help reduce the impact of the service disruptions:
Schedule payments early
Set up any bill payments, direct debits, or transfers before 5pm(ADST) 21 November 2025, to avoid delays or missed deadlines.
Withdraw cash
While you will have access to your cards it doesn’t hurt to have some cash on hand for purchases.
Download statements or records
If you need access to recent transactions or balances over the transition weekend, download or screenshot them today.
Seek help if you need it
If you are a victim of fraud during the transition period the Visa fraud team is available 24 hours a day on 1300 705 750.
After transition
What to expect from Monday 24 November 2025
To understand your experience from Monday 24 November 2025 please read the transition information booklet. Below is a summary of the experience from day one of the transition. Any reference to page numbers relate to the transition information booklet.
Internet banking
You’ll be able to log in to Bank Australia’s internet banking with your new member number and existing Australian Unity Bank password and then you’ll be prompted to change your password. [see page 8]
App
You’ll be able to download the Bank Australia app from the App Store or Google Play Store. After you’ve changed your password in internet banking, you’ll be able to log in to the Bank Australia mobile app. [see page 9]
Cards
Your Australian Unity debit and credit card(s) will continue to work until 28 February 2026. Shortly after transition, you’ll receive your new Bank Australia card(s) with updated card numbers, expiry dates and CVV codes. [see page 15]
BSB & account number(s)
Your current BSB and account number will still be accepted for a period of time. However, we recommend you update these details to your new Bank Australia account details to ensure payments are processed in real time. Rest assured, Bank Australia will contact you before your old account details can no longer be used. [see page 10]
Pay IDs
Your Pay IDs will have been automatically transferred to Bank Australia — no action needed.
Data sharing agreements
You’ll need to re-establish any data sharing agreements – that is any Open Banking arrangements where you share your data with accredited data recipients.[see page 41]
Regular payments
The regular payments that you have set up - like direct debits and direct credits, whether with external parties or between your own accounts - will still work for a period of time. However, they may be delayed, so we recommend updating these payments with your new BSB & account number as soon as possible. [see page 10]
Saved payees
Your existing payees will have been automatically transferred to Bank Australia – no action needed.
Daily limits
Some of your daily transaction limits will be changing. [see page 16].
