Who are home care services for?

Home care isn’t just for people who are very old or frail - it’s for anyone who could use a bit of extra help to keep living independently and comfortably at home.

Home care could help you if:

you’re recovering from surgery or a hospital stay and need some extra support
you’re still active but could use a bit of help around the home
you could use some company, or help getting out to do social activities
you’re caring for an older family member or loved one and need some extra support

Who is eligible to receive services?

You could be eligible if:

you’re aged 65+ (or 50+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people)
you need help with daily tasks
you’ve been assessed through My Aged Care or are self-funded
