Following the Reserve Bank of Australia’s (RBA) decision on Tuesday 6 September to increase the cash rate from 1.85% to 2.35%, Australian Unity Bank will increase its home loan, savings, selected term deposits, and cash management interest rates for customers.

Australian Unity Bank will increase home loan variable interest rates for new and existing customers on 16 September 2022 between 0.30% and 0.50%. New customers can access our new rates on our website from 16 September 2022 and existing customers will receive communication directly from Australian Unity with details of the rate increase that is applicable to them.

Australian Unity Bank will increase its savings, selected term deposits, and cash management interest rates on 8 September 2022, as follows:

  • Active Saver, Easy Saver and Freedom Saver Account bonus interest rates will increase by 0.30%. Golden Saver Account bonus interest will increase by 0.50%.
  • Term Deposit 9 month interest rate will increase by 0.75%.
Term Deposit 1 year interest rate will increase by 0.25%.

  • Net Invest, Cash Management and SMF Cash Management Account interest rates will increase by 0.50%.

Matthew Ricker, Chief Executive Officer of Australian Unity Bank, said the decision to make these changes was made after reviewing our current interest rates, balancing the needs of our home loan customers and considering the broader market.

Mr Ricker said Australian Unity understands increasing home loan rates is adding additional pressure on the cost of living for many households.

“We encourage customers concerned about their interest rates and repayments to get in touch with our team as soon as possible for assistance.”
