Kevin McCoy CEO

Chief Executive Officer – Independent & Assisted Living

Kevin McCoy joined Australian Unity in April 2012 and became Chief Executive Officer – Independent & Assisted Living in July 2017. His previous roles at Australian Unity included Chief Financial Officer, Group Executive - Strategic Business Development and Deputy CFO – positions that have seen him hold responsibility for the effective execution of strategic initiatives, treasury, capital management and organisation-wide performance measures. Prior to joining Australian Unity, Kevin had a successful consulting relationship with the company, having project managed the merger with Grand United in 2005, the sale of the General Insurance business in 2007 and the merger with Big Sky Credit Union in 2012. Kevin’s other major consulting clients included Westpac, where he managed the merger with St George in 2008, the IPO of BT Investment Management in 2007, the acquisition of RAMS in 2007 and the sale of the bank’s Custody business to HSBC in 2006. Kevin is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and is also an accredited project management professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.

Steve Drummy joined Australian Unity in July 2017 as Chief Financial Officer - Independent & Assisted Living.

Previously Steve was CFO of Sonepar Pacific, a, market leading, Paris based, global company with turnovers in excess of €20 Billion, in the electrical products and related solutions fields.

At Sonepar, Steve had responsibility for the Australian and New Zealand operations (combined revenues in excess of A$1 Billion), He occupied leadership roles across all parts of the business, including financial, commercial and operational roles. He also had experience and responsibility for the management of South East Asian operations (Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia).

Prior to Sonepar, Steve held senior roles in manufacturing with Ajax Fasteners, pharmaceutical, health and retail with Smith & Nephew, printing with News Limited and in distribution with Wesfarmers Industrial & Safety.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and a MBA. He is a fellow of the CPA and has studied internationally in Singapore, Palo Alto and Fontainbleau with the French business school Insead.

Sarah joined Australian Unity in July 2011 before taking on her current role with Independent & Assisted Living in 2017. Sarah brings over 15 years’ experience in senior operational roles within the financial, superannuation and health insurance industries. With a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University, Sarah has played pivotal roles in technology transformation projects, as well as implementing a split pay funding model which to this day remains unique to GU Health.

Holding roles responsible for coordinating back-office functions and operations for teams across international boundaries, Sarah has fostered a personal passion of working with people to achieve large goals for the business.

Cameron joined Australian Unity in 2013 as Chief Operating Officer and oversaw the rapid expansion and transformation of the business across Aged Care, Residential Communities and into Home & Disability Services, growing from less than 100 clients to over 55,000. Cameron was appointed to head the Home & Disability Services division in 2016, to continue to lead the 5,000 strong team to become Australia’s leading Home Services business.

Cameron has over twenty years’ experience leading the commercial and operational arms of large and well known Australian and international brands, including Lonely Planet and Jetstar. Cameron is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Suzanne  joined Australian Unity in 2016 and has over 15 years’ experience in health care, social and community support services. Over her extensive career she has held distinguished roles including CEO of Vivir Healthcare, CEO of Save the Children Australia and CEO of Marie Stopes International.

Suzanne spent much of her earlier career overseas, with roles at the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia and Thailand and with Telstra in Cambodia and Vietnam. 

 In 2005, Suzanne was recognised for her outstanding career achievements when she was awarded the Hudson Community and Government Award as part of the National Telstra Business Women’s Awards.

Kellie joined Australian Unity in 2015 and brings more than 20 years’ experience in marketing, brand and communication. Over her career Kellie has held key roles with iconic brands including ANZ Banking Group, Make-A-Wish Australia, Red Cross, Seven Network, Melbourne & Olympic Parks and Pacific Magazines. 

She joined the Board of Directors of global men’s health charity, Movember Foundation, in 2016 and holds directorships in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.  

Kellie is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is currently completing her Master of Business Administration.

Michael joined Australian Unity in 2017 , bringing significant media, communication and government experience to IAL. Having held senior roles in both the government and corporate sectors, Michael has helped ministers, CEOs and organisations to defend and enhance their reputation; effectively manage significant issues; and drive policy change in complex and highly regulated environments.

Michael has a strong interest in social policy issues. His government roles saw him working at the centre of disability reform, including the development and implementation of the NDIS; mental health reform; and the introduction of sweeping changes to the Victorian child protection system.

Jacqueline has worked at Australian Unity since 2008. Since joining the business as an in-house lawyer Jacqueline has worked on creating legal, compliance and risk management processes for the Independent and Assisted Living (IAL) division as well as on transactional work such as large property and business acquisitions.

In 2017 Jacqueline commenced leading the quality function within IAL which, when combined with existing governance processes, provides fulsome support for existing IAL operations and new acquisitions, developments and initiatives.

Prior to coming to Australian Unity Jacqueline worked in major Melbourne commercial law firms with a focus on property and development and as in-house counsel for just over two years at Coles Myer Ltd. Jacqueline holds degrees in law, applied finance and investment, arts (English and politics), professional writing and editing and has almost completed her Masters in Health Services Management.
