Member-owned wellbeing company Australian Unity today announced its lowest health insurance premium increase in 20 years.

The average increase across all Australian Unity health insurance products will be 1.99 percent, below the industry average increase of 2.74 percent. The change will happen from 1 April 2021 - the date that the annual government-approved premium changes come into effect for the entire sector.

“Throughout 2020 we proudly supported our members with COVID19 hardship relief measures, a six-month premium increase deferral and the recognition of telehealth benefits” Australian Unity Health Insurance CEO, David Brajkovic said.

We also offer our members access to a range of health programs as part of their hospital products, including the MindStep® mental health program and Rehabilitation at Home, subject to clinical appropriateness, through Australian Unity’s wholly owned subsidiary Remedy Healthcare.

As a member-owned wellbeing company we continue to review our product and service offerings to ensure they are affordable and relevant as possible. This premium increase, our lowest in 20 years, is reflective of that.

Any policyholders with questions or concerns should contact Australian Unity to ensure they have the right cover to meet their needs.
