With origins dating back to 1840, Australian Unity is one of Australia’s oldest organisations.
Over the years we have grown in many ways however we have always promoted the wellbeing of everyday Australians. For instance, back in the 1890s one of our founding organisations campaigned for Australia to become a Federation. Australia’s first two prime ministers, Sir Edmund Barton and Alfred Deakin, were both members of our society and so was the first Australian-born Governor-General in 1930, Sir Isaac Isaacs.
Today, Australian Unity actively identifies and helps solve a diverse range of health, financial and lifestyle needs of our members, customers and the broader community so that they can thrive.
As a mutual company, Australian Unity is owned by its members rather than shareholders. This means that we do not pay any of our profits to shareholders but rather reinvest them back into further services to directly support our members and customers.
Our services. A history in best practice.
Through the acquisition of existing retirement communities our humble beginnings as a provider of retirement living commenced. Years later, we grew to become a developer of new communities and also extended our services into aged care. Since then, we’ve grown again to also provide a range of home and disability services throughout Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
Devoted to providing a continuum of care for all.
No matter your age or circumstance, we provide caring, quality support for all.
Having home services support has proved very beneficial both to my wife and I. For me, it has removed the strain of house cleaning so that I can undertake other tasks with the knowledge that the house cleaning is well looked after. From my wife's point of view, it has cheered her up to see the house in such good condition. I am looking forward to getting other assistance in terms of gardening and other matters.
