We believe in creating a welcoming, home-like environment for our residents, so we encourage family and friends to visit and join in the community spirit. Whether it's enjoying a coffee, cake, or meal together at our Rathdowne Reeves Cafe, or inviting a beloved pet for a visit, there’s always something to share. For entertainment and relaxation, we have a cinema room where our residents can catch a movie with loved ones, and a hairdressing and beauty salon to keep them looking and feeling great.

Health and wellness are at the heart of our care, with a physiotherapy-supervised gymnasium and an indoor hydrotherapy pool available to support our residents physical wellbeing. For those who drive or have family visiting, undercover parking is provided for convenience.

Every room is fully furnished, and we encourage you to bring personal items that are meaningful to you, helping to create a familiar and comforting space.

The variety of room outlooks offers different views depending on the room’s location in the building, allowing for a unique experience tailored to each resident.

Our private rooms are purpose-built to enhance your mobility, support your independence, and provide a space where you can truly feel at home. Whether you’re relaxing, reading, enjoying time with visitors, or catching up on your favourite shows, your room is your private haven.

Room pricing

You can choose to pay for your accommodation in one of three ways:

as a lump sum called a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD)
as a Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) which is a non-refundable daily payment
as a combination of both the RAD and DAP

Under the new Aged Care Act, from 1 November 2025, aged care providers will be required to retain 2% of the Refundable Accommodation Deposits paid. This retention amount will be calculated daily and deducted monthly for a maximum of 5 years from the date the Refundable Accommodation Deposits was paid. Please note that the above prices are subject to change without notice.

This is why we are proud to offer you our Wellbeing Choice Program - our enhanced take on the government’s ‘Higher Everyday Living Fee’ option - to give you choice, meet your preferences and suit your needs.

What is a Higher Everyday Living Fee?

The Higher Everyday Living Fee (HELF) is an optional fee for people who choose to receive a higher standard of everyday living services in aged care, beyond the standard services funded by the government. These services include items such as upgraded meals, more varied activities, lifestyle options, entertainment, or other non-standard amenities.

Wellbeing Choice packages

Australian Unity has thoughtfully designed two higher everyday living packages for our residents, the Lumina Essentials, and the Lumina Signature.

Our Lumina Essentials Package offers enhanced meal and non-alcoholic beverage choices, and access to technology to stay connected with loved ones, while our Lumina Signature Package contains everything in the Lumina Essentials Package plus offers alcoholic beverages and enhanced lifestyle choices.

If you are not sure our packages are right for you, you can choose from individual, ad-hoc or on demand services at any time.
