David Bryant

Australian Unity Wealth - Chief Executive Officer

David joined Australian Unity in 2004. He is Chief Executive Officer for Australian Unity Wealth and Chief Investment Officer for the Australian Unity Group. He is responsible for Australian Unity’s financial services, investment and banking activities in Australia. He is a board member of many of its operating entities and Joint Venture subsidiaries.

Prior to joining Australian Unity in 2004, David was Chief Operating Officer at Perpetual Personal Financial Services, and has held senior roles in financial services, asset consulting, and banking, for both Australian and international organisations.

David is a director of the Australian Financial Services Council, and co-chair of its Advice Board Committee. David is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Institute of Management and Finsia.


Mark Pratt

Australian Unity Wealth - General Manager Property

Mark joined Australian Unity in 2004. As General Manager – Property, he is responsible for the commercial management and growth of Australian Unity’s Real Estate Investment businesses.

Mark currently sits on the national executive committee of the Property Funds Association and is also a member of the Victorian Division Council of the Property Council of Australia.

Prior to his current role, Mark was Australian Unity Investments’ Chief Operating Officer, responsible for supporting the growth of the overall business, together with responsibility for finance, client service, IT and operational functions.

Before joining Australian Unity, Mark managed a major change programme at MLC. He has also worked at Plum Financial Services, AMP Financial Services and State Street Australia in a variety of roles.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting from the University of NSW.


Geraldine Barlow

Australian Unity Wealth - General Manager Investments

Geraldine joined Australian Unity in 2016 and is responsible for leading Australian Unity Wealth’s internal investment teams across multi asset portfolios and our external joint venture businesses in Australian equities.

Before joining Australian Unity, Geraldine was head of real return and real estate at the New Mexico State Investment Council, the second largest sovereign wealth fund in the US.

Prior to this, Geraldine worked for Hastings Funds Management in the US as well as running her own consulting firm there.

In Australia, she has worked for James Fielding Infrastructure, Deutsche Asset Management and Jones Lang LaSalle, in a range of investment roles.

Geraldine holds bachelor degrees in business (economics) and applied science from QUT and a graduate diploma in applied finance and investment from FINSIA. She is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and has completed the company director's course at AICD.


Matt Walsh

Life and Super - General Manager

As General Manager – Life and Super for Australian Unity Wealth, Matt acts in the capacity of chief executive of investment bond business, Lifeplan - with more than $2B in funds under management, and oversees Australian Unity’s superannuation joint venture Federation Alliance.

Joining Lifeplan in 1993, Matt’s responsibilities have included strategy, product development, client services, IT, distribution and marketing.

In 2009, Lifeplan merged with Australian Unity and Matt joined the executive team of Australian Unity Wealth. Prior to joining Lifeplan, Matt worked with PriceWaterhouse, including time in the US with the PriceWaterhouse world firm, on development of their strategic methodologies used globally.

Matt’s specialties include strategy, business transformation, mergers/acquisitions, customer/member engagement, new market development, innovation and building and leading highly effective teams.

Matt is passionate about running highly regarded enterprises, improving the financial wellbeing of Australians, the personal effectiveness of leaders, creating collaborative climates, and how established businesses can be more innovative, adaptive and relevant to their customers/members.

Matt is Chairman of the University of Adelaide’s International Centre for Financial Services, an academic research and education provider specialising in the Australian Financial Services sector. Matt is also Chairman of finance industry body, FSA. Matt holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of South Australia and a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University, is a published co-author of academic papers on strategic planning and financial advice, and listed inventor on two innovation patents.


Tim Barber

Australian Unity Wealth - General Manager Banking

Tim was appointed to the role of General Manager - Banking in January 2017, after five years as Chief Operating Officer for Australian Unity Wealth. He is responsible for the overall performance of the Big Sky Building Society business. Tim is also Director of several Australian Unity joint venture companies.

In his time as COO for Australian Unity Wealth, Tim was responsible for finance, capital management, investment operations and control, legal and compliance, governance, technology, project management office, business intelligence and strategic risk management. Prior to this, Tim was a partner at Ernst & Young where he focused on the financial services sector providing assurance and advisory services to a broad range of clients including those with asset management, insurance and banking operations.

Tim has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce - Accounting and Finance from the University of Tasmania, Chartered Accountant and he is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.


Natalie Ellisdon

Australian Unity Wealth - General Manager Digital and Marketing

Natalie joined Australian Unity in 2016 in the newly-created role of General Manager – Digital & Marketing.

Prior to this Natalie was marketing director at iSelect and before that spent more than six years at GE Capital where she held a variety of leadership roles. She started her career with Macquarie Bank.

In her current role Natalie is responsible for the Australian Unity Wealth business’s strategic marketing and brand activities, digital capabilities and market research, including the development, implementation, co-ordination and outcomes of all of its strategic marketing initiatives.

Natalie holds a Bachelor of Arts and Commerce from Deakin University and a Certificate in Marketing from Monash University.


Emma Rodgers

Australian Unity Wealth - General Manager Legal and Business Governance

Emma is a lawyer, having practiced in the financial services industry for over 20 years as a legal, compliance, governance and risk professional. As well as heading the Legal and Business Governance team at Australian Unity Wealth, Emma acts as company secretary for a number of Australian Unity’s joint venture partners.

Prior to joining Australian Unity, Emma was associate director - legal and compliance with UBS Wealth Management Australia, and before this worked for Perpetual Trustees as national counsel.

Emma also worked for NAB as a senior solicitor with a focus on providing legal support to the private banking division.

Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law from Monash University.
