Damian Diamantopoulos presenting at the Financial Standard Adviser Big Day Out in Wollongong

After months of planning, construction and close collaboration with the South Australian Health Department, Genesis Care is once again delivering essential oncology services on-site, supported by a new Day of Surgery Admissions unit and a 16-bed inpatient ward. These improvements mean patients now experience a seamless treatment flow without moving between floors.

Since acquiring Western Hospital in 2018, Australian Unity’s Healthcare Property Trust, Western Hospital’s landlord, has invested more than $35 million in upgrades, working closely with the South Australian Government and key stakeholders to secure its future.

The repositioned Western Health Hub now brings together Western Adelaide Private and 13 other medical and wellbeing providers, including GenesisCare, Benson Radiology, Clinpath Pathology and the GP Clinic—creating a comprehensive care destination for the community.

A huge thank you to the hospital’s clinicians, staff, volunteers and the Colliers Property Management team for their support.

Special thanks to Peter Beale and Tim Atkin from Australian Unity for driving this project over the past 18 months, and to our partners Napier & Blakeley, Johnstaff, Electric Results, Watson Fitzgerald & Associates, Chris Whittaker Construction, Harrold & Kite Pty Ltd Builders and the many contractors and consultants whose expertise made this possible.

The Western Health Hub provides critical community health infrastructure and is testament to everyone’s commitment, hard work and care.
