Australia’s population is ageing.

In the last 15 years, an average of about 20,000 Australians moved above the age of 80 each year.  From 2025, 50,000 Australians will move above 80 each year, more than double the historical average. As people age, they need increasing levels of assistance, including via the provision of healthcare services (at times within an aged care setting).
