By getting to know you better to protect against fraud

Identity verification and protection

At Australian Unity, it is a priority to help further protect our investors against the risk of fraud and to comply with laws that aim to prevent financial crime. Further, as a financial institution, we are required to comply with Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) (“AML/CTF Act”) to protect our business, our customers and the community from fraud and financial crime. In this regard, we are required to identify and verify our Investors through the ‘Know Your Customer’ or ‘KYC’ process.

What is KYC?

‘Know Your Customer’ or ‘KYC’ is a process required under the AML/CTF Act to collect and verify specified information about our investors to ensure the person or the entity investing in our product is who they claim to be.

Protecting your personal information

The information you provide is protected under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and other applicable privacy laws and regulations.
