Service relocation works involve disconnecting, moving and commissioning a range of services, including water, electricity, communications, stormwater, chilled water, medical oxygen, security and access controls and potable water mains. These critical services will be relocated to ensure they are isolated and protected from any future works on the Northern Car Park.
We continue to refine plans to begin services diversion works and will keep you informed of timing as plans progress. Some of the key impacts will be:
- Research Road will be partially closed between the intersection with Back Road and the driveway to the Herston Medical Research Facility
- Back Road will be partially closed between the intersection of Research Road and driveway to the Herston Alcohol and Drugs Unit
- Pedestrian access will be maintained from Bramston Terrace, along Back Road to the Centre for Clinical Nursing.
- There will be limited vegetation removal required as part of these essential works.
Construction of the car park will then commence and take approximately 18 months to complete.
