Indigenous Engagement

Artist impression of the Herston Quarter redevelopment.

The redevelopment of Herston Quarter provides an opportunity for Australian Unity to meaningfully engage the local Indigenous community to actively contribute to the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Queensland.

Australian Unity Reconciliation Action Plan

In 2016, Australian Unity launched its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to affirm its commitment to build strong and respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and businesses. The RAP outlined key actions across the business that will provide practical support in progressing reconciliation in Australian Unity and the broader community. These actions are underpinned by the guiding principles of Relationships, Respect and Opportunities.
