When it comes to optical claims, the benefits are easy to see


Most Australian Unity members with extras cover are able to quickly and easily claim money back on prescription glasses, contact lenses or any optical repairs

You can even claim money back on prescription swimming goggles, ski masks and diving masks. All you have to do is include a copy of your receipt when you make your claim.

There are several ways you can make an optical claim

You'll find out all you need to know about making a claim here. But before submitting your claim, please keep in mind that a recognised optometrist or ophthalmologist has to prescribe your (lenses) and contact lenses in order for the claim to be paid.

Note that your claim is paid based on the date you collected your glasses or contact lenses, and not on the date you paid for them. That means that if you order and pay for glasses in December, but don't collect them until January, the claim will be paid as part of your benefits for the current (new) year.
