Is your cover set up?
If you haven’t already done so, it’s a good idea to get your cover set up correctly so you know you’re not paying more than you need to.
Here’s a quick checklist to follow so you can things set up properly and with the minimum of fuss.
Set up Online Member Services
Use Online Member Services to check your claiming limits and available benefits, make claims, add and change your details and much more, whenever you want.
To log in, enter your username (your membership number if logging in for the first time) and temporary password, which you’ll find in the email we may have sent when you joined.
Can’t find the email? To receive a new password, simply click the register button and follow the prompts.
Apply for the Australian Government Rebate on Private Health Insurance
The rebate you receive depends on your income and age. If you’re eligible and not already receiving it, we recommend you apply for the rebate before your next payment is due, or you could end up paying more than you have to.
You can apply via Online Member Services or by completing the rebate application form included in your welcome pack.
Complete your Transfer Certificate Request form
If you joined Australian Unity from another fund, you can complete the Transfer Certificate Request via Online Member Services or by completing the Transfer Certificate Request form included in your welcome pack.
Once received, we’ll cancel your previous membership and obtain a Transfer Certificate from your old fund so we can apply the appropriate waiting period and Lifetime Health Cover status to your new membership.
Set up a direct debit and receive a 4% discount
Not only is direct debit a convenient way to pay for your health cover but we’ll give you a 4% discount for selecting this payment option. You can set up a direct debit via Online Member Services or by completing the Direct Debit and Claims Credit Application form included in your welcome pack.
Set up a delegated authority
If you’re ever in a situation where you can’t contact us directly, perhaps because you’re in hospital or travelling, you’ll be glad you set things up so someone else can speak to us on your behalf.
To delegate an authority, complete the Delegated Authority form contained in your welcome pack or call us on 13 29 39.
