Impact of Melbourne Stage 4 restrictions

The Melbourne Stage 4 restrictions announced this week has seen the closing of the Australian Unity Melbourne Head Office from 11.59pm Wednesday 5th August.

While the vast majority of our workforce has been moved offsite, some exemptions apply, specifically essential mailroom personnel. This means all physical mail will continue to be received at our Head Office in Melbourne.

Processing requests

Applications for new investments, changes to existing investments, redemptions and withdrawal requests (requests) will still be received at our Head Office in Melbourne.

However, we do encourage where possible that requests be submitted electronically – either via the secure investor or adviser portals, or emailed to us directly. Refer below for further information on submitting electronically.

This is to try and make the receipt and processing of requests as seamless as possible given the remote work arrangements of our operational staff.

For requests submitted electronically prior to cut-off times, we will apply the unit price effective on the day we receive your completed request. If a request is received after the cut-off times, we will apply the unit price effective on the next business day. As our staff are working from home it is possible that interruptions to internet services or other localised disruptions mean we may not receive your electronic requests immediately. On that basis, we will be taken to have received your request when it actually appears in our portal or email systems and we are able to open it and read it.

If you must send us a request in the post, please be aware that Australia Post is experiencing significant delays and their delivery times are not guaranteed. This will affect the date we receive your request in the post and also the unit price we will apply to your request.
