Sod turn of The Residences at Campbell Place, Glen Waverley

04 Oct 2015
Australian Unity has turned the first sod on its latest retirement living, home care and aged care community at Campbell Place in Glen Waverley, Victoria.

The construction—with an estimated completion in early 2017—will see the previous Wahroonga Aged Care facility redeveloped to become Campbell Place and offer retirement living apartments (known as “The Residences”), home care services and aged care co-located on the same site.

Derek McMillan, Australian Unity Retirement Living’s Chief Executive Officer, said Campbell Place will provide more choices for the locals of Glen Waverley and neighbouring suburbs through a continuum of care.

“Campbell Place will employ Australian Unity’s integrated Better Together person-centred care model. The model provides residents greater choice and control over their lives with multi-skilled care partners and a holistic range of services,” Mr McMillan said.

“This is our Better Together philosophy—that the changing needs of families and communities across Australia are met through a true client-directed care model.”

“The move to become an integrated retirement community at Campbell Place has necessitated this construction and we hope the community can reap the benefits of a modern and inclusive wellbeing precinct.”

Located in the heart of Glen Waverley – offering a quality retirement lifestyle—the completed Campbell Place will offer:

Architecturally designed retirement apartments, all with their own balcony
54 two and three bedroom apartments
102 bed aged care facility
Home Care services
Community centre
Outdoor BBQ areas
Landscaped gardens
Dining room, bar, gym and library
Community spaces to spend times with friends and family
Campbell Place is within walking distance of Glen Waverley Train Station, The Glen Shopping Centre, cinemas and the local dining and shopping precinct.

Murray and Anne Campbell turned the sod at the Campbell Place event held on Monday 5 October 2015. Mr Campbell was previously the Joint Managing Director of Australian Unity before becoming Deputy Chairman from 1995 to 2004.

Campbell Place is located at 131-141 Coleman Parade, Glen Waverley, Victoria.
