Australian Unity Retirement Living is expanding its home care portfolio after exchanging contracts for the purchase of INS Health Care, the home care division of The INS Group.
INS Health Care is a leading provider of home care services operating in the Illawarra, Macarthur, Southern Highlands and southern Sydney areas of New South Wales.
INS LifeGuard and INS Technologies which deliver Tele-Care, medical alarms, Tele-Health, E-Health and other services and health technologies across Australia are unaffected and will continue to operate as part of the broader and growing INS Group.
Australian Unity Retirement Living Chief Executive Officer, Derek McMillan, said the acquisition will strengthen Australian Unity’s existing presence in the southern and western Sydney and Southern Highlands regions where the business already operates a range of home care services including within its Constitution Hill, Greglea and Mt Eymard retirement villages.
"INS Health Care has over 70 staff, an established client base, 126 home care packages, and provides home care services for a number of major health organisations including the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and NSW Health.
"We have carefully considered businesses that reflect values similar to our own and we believe INS Health Care is an excellent match given its strong reputation for high quality care services and innovation in the communities where it successfully operates.
"As one of the oldest home care providers in Australia, INS Health Care’s expertise will strengthen our ability to offer an extensive range of care services to clients that allow them to maintain their independence and quality of life, whether their home is located in one of our retirement villages or not.
"Combined with our Better Together® philosophy, the acquisition will allow Australian Unity to grow and extend the quality and reach of our care services," Mr McMillan said.
The INS Group's Managing Director, Claude Rafin, said that the sale of INS Health Care and ongoing partnership between The INS Group and Australian Unity will create additional employment in the region over time and bring tangible improvements to the wellbeing of the clients and communities in the region.
"We will be working closely with Australian Unity to ensure the transition is managed as smoothly as possible and clients continue to enjoy the same high level of care during this period," Mr Rafin said.
The transaction is expected to be completed in August 2014. Ends
