Ms Melinda Honig joined Australian Unity on 8 February 2016, and has been appointed general counsel, company secretary, chief risk officer and person responsible for communications with the ASX effective from the date of Mr Fehlberg’s resignation.
Prior to joining Australian Unity Melinda has been at GE for 15 years. Over the past five years at GE Capital, in the role of General Counsel, Melinda has overseen the provision of legal services to GE Capital’s commercial finance, consumer finance and insurance businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
Melinda brings to Australian Unity her executive experience in legal, compliance and company secretary functions. Melinda has worked abroad as Counsel, GE Indonesia, in operations which included transportation, energy and GE Capital.
She is a qualified lawyer in Victoria. Prior to GE Capital, Melinda undertook her legal training in the Tax function of KPMG. She also holds a degree in Economics and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors course.
