Northern Car Park Services Relocation Works

As the design for the Northern Car Park continues to be refined, we are preparing to relocate existing services for the surrounding health precinct from the car park site. These services relocation works are anticipated to commence in October and take approximately nine months.

Service relocation works involve disconnecting, moving and commissioning a range of services, including water, electricity, communications, stormwater, chilled water, medical oxygen, security and access controls and potable water mains. These critical services will be relocated to ensure they are isolated and protected from any future works on the Northern Car Park.

Some of the key impacts of this work will be:

  • Installation of site hoarding, services isolation, demolition and excavation
  • Research Road will be permanently closed between the intersection with Back Road and the driveway to the Herston Medical Research Facility
  • Back Road will be permanently closed between the intersection of Research Road and driveway to the Herston Alcohol and Drugs Unit
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained from Bramston Terrace, along Back Road to Cassia Crescent
  • There will be limited vegetation removal required as part of these essential works.

Work on-site is permitted Monday – Saturday, 6:30am – 6:30pm.

Please note that the existing car park on Bramston Terrace will remain open until the new car park is operational.

Updates on these works will be provided on our website and in the Reimagining Herston Quarter newsletter.
