Retirement Community Fee Waiver Offer Terms and Conditions

Offer Terms and Conditions

  1. This Offer is for Australian Unity to pay for six months of Recurrent Charges (subject to an Overall Cap for each Community on the total amount of charges that will be paid under this Offer) for an Eligible Person and an Eligible Unit in accordance with these terms and conditions. In any case where the six-month Recurrent Charge Offer would exceed the Overall Cap for the relevant Community, the Offer is limited to payment of Recurrent Charges up to that Overall Cap amount.

  2. For the purposes of this Offer:
An Eligible Unit is any leasehold unit, apartment, villa, or bungalow in an Australian Unity Retirement Community, excluding the following Communities - Greglea, Mt Eymard, The Alba, The Grace, and St Brigid’s Green; and excluding any Serviced Apartments at Willandra and The Governors Communities.
Recurrent Charges are the charges payable on a recurrent basis to an Australian Unity entity in accordance with the standard resident documents for the relevant Community. Recurrent Charges do not include any fees payable for any optional or additional services provided on request or other amounts that may become payable under the terms of those documents from time to time and do not include any amounts for utilities, council rates, water rates, insurance or other charges that are payable to any third party.
An Eligible Person is a person who:
    1. pays a holding deposit on an Eligible Unit in an Australian Unity Retirement Community, and completes and submits an associated Reservation and Deposit Receipt Form, on or after 1 January 2024; and
    2. has the Offer recorded for them by the Australian Unity Sales Manager when the holding deposit is paid, and associated Form is submitted for the Eligible Unit at the relevant Retirement Community or, where the holding deposit was paid between 1 and 14 January 2024, has the Offer confirmed to them in writing by the Australian Unity Sales Manager; and
    3. completes the settlement of the lease of the Eligible Unit on or before 30th June 2024 and continues to reside in the Eligible Unit after any statutory cooling-off or settling-in periods have expired.
Overall Cap means, for each Community, the amount listed in the Table at the end of these Terms and Conditions. Recurrent Charges for units within each Community vary depending on factors such as the size of those units. The amounts shown in this Table are the Overall Cap for units with the highest Recurrent Charges in the relevant Community and are not indicative of the value of the Offer for all people intending to take up this Offer for that Community.

  3. This Offer is only redeemable once per unit. If there are two or more people who are Eligible Persons in respect of the lease of a unit, this Offer is only redeemable once for all those people and the relevant unit.

  4. Australian Unity will pay the Eligible Person’s Recurrent Charges once any statutory cooling-off or settling-in periods have expired on the lease of the unit, on the Eligible Person’s behalf for six (6) monthly billing periods, subject to the total Recurrent Charges paid not exceeding the Overall Cap for the relevant Community.

  5. This Offer is not available to employees (or immediate family members of employees) of Australian Unity or any other Australian Unity Group company.

  6. This Offer is only available for new residents of an Australian Unity Retirement Community. Current residents of any other Australian Unity Retirement Community are not eligible.

  7. If a person seeking to take up this Offer does not continue to reside in the Eligible Unit after any statutory cooling-off or settling-in periods have expired, then they will be charged, and must pay, all Recurrent Charges in respect of that unit that would otherwise be payable by them under their standard resident documents for that unit.

  8. If a person seeking to take up this Offer continues to reside in the Eligible Unit for a period after any statutory cooling-off or settling-in periods have expired but does not continue to do so for a full 6 month period, then the Offer is limited to payment of Recurrent Charges for the period of residency in that unit only and they will be charged, and must pay, all Recurrent Charges in respect of that unit, that would otherwise be payable under their standard resident documents, from the date on which they vacate that unit.

  9. Australian Unity reserves the right to change, suspend or withdraw this Offer at any time and without notice.

  10. This Offer is not valid in conjunction with any other offer and is not transferable.

  11. Offer issued by Australian Unity Retirement Living Management Pty Ltd ABN 97 003 434 115. Level 13, 271 Spring Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000
