Australian Unity Claims Advice for the Victorian Earthquake

Australian Unity policy holders affected by the earthquake in the Victoria region are encouraged to call our 24 Hour Insurance Hotline on 1300 880 037. If we are unable to answer your call please leave a message with your contact details and policy number, and we will return your call as soon as possible.

Alternatively you can lodge minor or non urgent claims using the Claims Notification Form via email at cil@claimsservices.com.au. We will acknowledge within 48 business hours upon receipt.

Copies of insurance documents are not required to make a claim. We use our customer records to confirm cover. For household claims the sooner the damage is reported to us the quicker we can ensure that those who require urgent assistance can be attended to.

Upon notification of a claim, where required arrangements will be made for a Loss Adjuster to contact you to provide first hand advice and support as required.

Advice for clients

A Claims Advice for Clients information sheet is attached with advice on clean up, securing premises, and emergency contacts such as SES.

Here are some steps your can take to assist with the recovery and claims process:

  • Return to the property only if emergency services have declared it safe to do so
  • Itemise your contents where possible, including taking photographs and keeping receipts of belongings
  • Contact Calliden before authorising any repairs - unauthorised repairs may not be covered
  • Emergency repairs should only be carried out if their property is unsafe
