Comprehensive Hospital Cover is the highest
level of cover provided by Australian Unity and provides 100% cover for
hospital accommodation and an extensive range of services in contracted
hospitals. Comprehensive Hospital Cover provides you and your family with
total peace of mind. You know that you’ll be covered when you need it most
so you’ll have nothing to worry about except getting better.
You can lower your health insurance premium by choosing to pay an excess,
just as you do with car insurance. Choose from no excess, $250 or $500
excess. The excess is only applied twice per calendar year
no matter how many times you go to hospital. If you do not have any admissions
to hospital, you will not pay the excess.
Non-Obstetrics Hospital Cover is ideal for
couples and families who want the peace of mind of a comprehensive hospital
cover but who do not require cover for obstetrics (pregnancy). By excluding
obstetrics cover, you only pay for what you require.
Non-Obstetrics Hospital Cover has an excess of $300. By applying
an excess, just as you do with car insurance, your health insurance premium
is lowered. The excess is payable per admission, to a maximum of twice
per calendar year. If you do not have any admissions to hospital, you will
not pay the excess. Please refer to separate Fact Sheets for full details
about benefits, entitlements, yearly maximums and qualifying periods.
