Claiming benefits with Australian Unity has never been easier

1. On the spot claiming for extras and dental

Most of the following health care providers offer the HICAPS or ibahealth Point electronic claims facility. Which means, where the facility is available you can swipe your Australian Unity membership card to claim your benefits on the spot.

2. Make an extras or dental claim online

As an Australian Unity member you can make extras or dental claims, through our Online Services. There is a limit of $300 for online claims, this limit can only be reset when any outstanding receipts are returned to Australia Unity for previous Online claims you have made. Once your receipts are received, this amount will be reset.

Be sure to have your itemised account with you to provide us with your claim details.

3. TeleClaims

Phone through your claim, just have your membership number and receipts ready when you call . We aim to process your claims on the spot however a maximum limit of $300 applies. This limit can only be reset when any outstanding receipts are returned to Australian Unity for previous phone claims you have made. Once your receipts are received, this amount will be reset.

To lodge your claim by phone, call TeleClaims on 1800 807 144 between 9:00am and 5:00pm EST, Monday to Friday.

4. Claiming by fax

You can also fax your claim form and the relevant accounts and receipts to us on
1800 852 030 (this is a free fax number).

5. Claiming by mail

Download a claim form, when completed, post it with all relevant accounts and receipts, to us at:

Please make sure that you:

  • Date and sign the form
  • Pin all relevant information to the form
  • Keep copies for your records

6. Payment of your claim benefits

With Direct Credit your benefits are paid into your nominated bank, building society or credit union account. Please note that we cannot make direct payments into your credit card account.

This service lets us pay your claim benefits quickly and securely, so you can have the money you've outlaid back sooner.

7. Check your claim history and limit availability online

As an Australian Unity member you can access your claim history and view your limit availability though our Online Services. Once logged in you'll find these options and more under the 'Claims' menu.

We'll also send you a monthly claims benefits statement detailing any amounts we've paid under your membership. If you make more than one claim in a month, they'll all be detailed on the one statement. If you don't make any claims, you won't receive a statement for that month.
