For most Extras treatments and services, claims with a benefit of up to $300 are processed instantly, so you’ll get your money
back fast, then all you’ll need to do is send your receipts to us in the mail. Take your pick, simply by clicking on the links below to find out more.
Claiming Extras benefits at your healthcare provider is easy. Simply swipe your membership card through the HICAPS or IBA terminal and claim your benefits on the spot. Once your claim is authorised, you simply pay any difference between the Australian Unity benefit and your provider’s fee.
Online and Email
Manage your claims simply with Online Member Services, log on to australianunity.com.au/memberservices to lodge your Extras claim.
We’ll process claims of up to $300 immediately, and then get in touch with you to request your receipts by mail. Simply pop your original receipts with the return form into the envelope provided, it’s that easy.
The Australian Unity iPhone and iPad App is a useful tool that puts online claims at your fingertips. No matter where you are, just enter the claim information or take a photo of your Extras receipt and submit the claim electronically, it’s that simple.

We understand how busy life can be, so Australian Unity offers members a TeleClaims service. The TeleClaims team would be happy to process your claim over the phone. Simply call on 1800 807 144 (9am to 5pm EST, Monday to Friday).
Paper and Fax Claims
Complete a Health Cover Claim form and attach your healthcare provider receipts. Remember to sign and date the form and keep a copy for your records. Then fax your claim to 1800 852 030 or mail it in to us:

After we’ve processed your paper claim, you’ll receive an SMS to let you know payment has been made into your account.
Payment of your Claim Benefits
You’ll need to let us know where you’d like us to pay your claim. Make sure you set up your Claims Credit arrangement. This lets us pay your claim directly into your bank account. If you haven’t set this up yet, simply register online by visiting australianunity.com.au/memberservices and select ‘Payments’ or give us a call on 13 29 39 and we’ll get you set up over the phone.
Check your claim history and limits online
As an Australian Unity member you can check your claim history and view your limit availability though our Online Services. Once logged in you'll find these options and more under the 'Claims' menu.
We'll also send claims benefits statement each quarter in January, April, July and October detailing any amounts we've paid under your membership. If you do make a claim in during that quarter, we’ll send you a detailed statement of your claims.
Of course, you can always View your claim history in Online Services today.
