Browser FAQs

If you are having trouble logging in to the member area of the Australian Unity website or uploading your receipts it may be due to your browser settings. The most common browser issues that have caused problems are:

  • Cookies need to be enabled on your browser, and/or
  • Temporary files need to be deleted.

Simply follow the instructions below for your particular browser. If you continue to have problems, please contact us on 13 29 39.

Google Chrome

To enable cookies

  • Click the “three line” icon in the browser toolbar, located in the top right corner and select “Settings” from the menu.
  • Click on the “Show advanced settings” link.
  • In the “Privacy” section, click on the “Content settings” button.
  • Within the “Content settings” window, under the “Cookies” section, click on “Manage exceptions”.
  • Within the “Cookie and site data exceptions” window, type [*.]www.australianunity.com in the “Hostname pattern” field. Make sure you include the characters [*.]
  • Click on the “Done” button

To delete temporary files

  • Click the “three line” icon in the browser toolbar, located in the top right corner and select “Tools” from the menu.
  • Select “Clear browsing data”.
  • Select “the past day” from the drop down menu
  • Click “Clear browsing data”

Internet Explorer

To enable cookies

  • From the menu, select "Tools".
  • From the drop down menu, select "Internet Options".
  • Select the "Privacy" tab from the top of the "Internet Options" window.
  • Click on the "Sites" button in the "Settings" area.
  • Type "australianunity.com.au" into the space provided.
  • Click on "Allow".
  • Click the "OK" button on the "Per Site Privacy Actions" window.
  • Click the "OK" button towards the bottom right corner of the "Internet options" window.

To delete temporary files

  • From the menu, select "Tools".
  • From the drop down menu, select "Internet Options".
  • Select the “General” tab from the “Internet Options” window.
  • Click on the “Delete” button in the “Browsing history” section.
  • Within the “Delete Browsing History” page , checkbox the “Temporary Internet files” option and then click on the “Delete” button
  • Once files have been deleted click “OK”

Firefox

To enable cookies

  • Click the "Firefox" menu in the top left hand corner.
  • Click "Options".
  • Select the "Privacy" icon from the top of the "Options" window.
  • Within the “History” section, select Firefox will: “use custom settings for history”.
  • Click on the “Exceptions” button
  • Type "Australianunity.com.au" into the space provided and then click on the "Allow" button
  • Click the "Close" button in the bottom right corner.
  • Click "OK" button towards the bottom right corner of the "Options" window to finalise these settings.

To delete temporary files

  • Click the "Firefox" menu in the top left hand corner.
  • Click "History".
  • Click “Clear recent history”.
  • The “Clear recent history “ window will display.
  • Select “Today” from the “Time range to clear” drop down options.
  • Click the arrow next to the “Details” option
  • Make sure that “Cache” is ticked.
  • Click on the “Clear Now” button

iPhone

To enable cookies

  • Select the “Settings” icon
  • Select “Safari” from the options listed
  • Within the “Privacy” section ensure that “Private Browsing” is turned “Off’
  • Within “Accept Cookies”,  select “From visited”


To delete temporary files

  •  Select the “Settings” icon
  • Select “Safari” from the options listed
  • Select “Clear Cookies and Data”
  • Select “Clear Cookies and Data” again when prompted
