Business & Technology Services
Business & Technology Services provides cost effective facilities and services to enable Australian Unity's
business units to deliver valued products and services to their customers.
Services provided include:
- Technology and business process improvement and innovation consulting
- IT systems development, implementation and maintenance
- Project Management
- Provision, management and support of computing facilities
- A secure computing environment
- Telephony services
- Accommodation, motor vehicles and general office services
Finance
The Finance team carries out four functions: It provides overall financial control for the AU group and
co-ordinates/consolidates all management and statutory reporting, including taxation and regulatory reporting;
it provides an accounting and reporting service for the infrastructure units and the shared services company;
it carries out a number of centralised functions for the group principally accounts payable and fixed asset reporting;
and it manages the group's capital and corporate borrowings, particular allocations to individual business units and
custody of those assets which are not specific to any particular business unit.
Healthcare
A core business unit of Australian Unity, Healthcare delivers an innovative, proactive approach to health cover.
As operator of the third largest private health fund in Victoria and seventh largest in Australia, Australian Unity
looks after the health of more than 300,000 people nationwide. The departments in Healthcare include
Operations (claims processing and membership), Health Services (claims analysis and Wellplan), Business Planning,
Marketing, Information Systems, Provider Relations and Finance.

The HR team's vision is to pro-actively and professionally act in partnership with their
customers to enhance their people management capacity. HR Services include: HR Consulting,
Training & Development, Payroll, Occupational Health & Safety, Reward & Recognition, Industrial Relations,
Organisational Development, Employee Support, Internal Communications, Change Management.

Retail Services
The aim of the Retail Service unit is to provide a seamless interface for the Australian Unity Group,
and to efficiently and effectively distribute and promote all Australian Unity products and services.
Within retail services there are a range of fundamental areas that include:
- Customer Service Centre, to provide a service to existing members to manage questions relating
to their health insurance. To attract new members by selling Health, General, Car and Travel Insurance.
- Australian Unity Financial Planning (AUFP) operates on a service based model - we work side by
side with our clients to develop a financial plan which will help them achieve their financial goals.
Some areas of advice and service include - investment selection and asset allocation, retirement and
redundancy planning, superannuation, wealth creation and estate planning.
Retirement Living Services
Australian Unity Retirement Living Services aims to be one of the leading retirement living service providers in
Australia within the next five years, being recognised for our integrity, expertise and the 'better living'
experienced by our residents. This vision is well supported by the Australian Unity heritage of care and wellbeing.
A strong acquisition and development focus will see our current network comprising operations at 11 locations in
NSW and 2 locations in Victoria expand significantly over the coming year, particularly in Victoria and NSW.
Retirement Living Services currently employees approximately 500 staff.
Strategy & Development
Strategy and Development are responsible for managing the Group's brand and corporate reputation; the
effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation’s marketing services, initiation, support and analysis of strategic
growth opportunities and the co-ordination of the Group's strategic planning program.
