Basic Hospital

Just looking for affordable protection against life’s curve-balls?

Basic Hospital cover provides you with “just in case” cover, so that you can be treated as a private patient in a public hospital. It means you’ll have your choice of doctor. It’s not too fancy – but then it’s not too expensive either. You can expect great private patient hospital care in a public hospital if you need it, but keep saving towards your house, overseas trip or whatever is important to you right now.

† Covered as a private patient in a shared room of a public hospital. Not suitable for accommodation in a private hospital.

How are Australian Unity’s excesses applied?

Unlike some health funds, Australian Unity only applies the excess on your first admission to hospital in a calendar year with singles cover and up to twice in a calendar year with couples or family cover.
